I will never lie again...

HA! lie..

But there is a story involved here.. Over Christmas I got a necklace with a key on it. I thought it was cool looking. Apparently my niece Cassidy thought it was too and she asked me what it was opened. And me, being me, told her that it opened a magic door at Neena's (my mom) house.

I forgot about this. Spring comes and Bekki starts planning a trip to Washington and tells the kids and Cassidy starts jabbering on about some secret door at Neena's that she's going to be able to see.. Of course Bekki has NO IDEA what she's talking about..

I get a phone call.. basically--there better be a secret door.

SO! I pull together any amount of creativity that I have which I have always assumed was absolutely none and got this -->

And turned it into.. this -->

Mind, I have a tale involved.. Fairies and magic galore.

Did I say something about not lying? Ah, well.. I have to spin the tale! Make it all believable. I've got a magic door, we'll see what comes of it. They come tomorrow.. It was all on the line.

And just for fun.. a picture from yesterdays gloom. I love it here.

Things I will automatically judge: (o.0)

1. The handshake
I hate bad handshakes.. Those lame-sauce handshakes like a limp fish or diva; the respect level that you start at drops automatically. You'll see it in my face.. (my face is an open book, what can i say?) I have to try and wipe off the 'bad handshake' essence later.

2. How the toilet is left
Okay, so I work at an inn and I clean up after people all day. Toilets are part of that line of work and I have no problem doing it, honestly I don't.. Until I open the lid and there's pee lining the rim and on the base of the toilet.. I just think it says something about how you leave it for the next person OR for the person who has to clean it.
'DUDE!! LEARN HOW TO AIM! Pay attention for the 10 seconds your in there and make it in that LARGE hole in front of you.' Some day my curses will strike against these unsuspecting men and they will have no idea what hit them.

3. The only book you've read is Twilight and you claim that it's the best book ever
Your logic is just flawed, for one. And let's be honest.. if you don't read at all and super adamant about it. (yes i have met a person like this) I don't even know what to say at this point. I don't demand that people read what I like to read, but... anything would really suffice. (there are so many mediums for books now.. audio, the physical book, e-books.. give it a try.)
You don't have patience for books? Yea, I don't have patience for you.

4. Saying LOL all the time
Like a million times in a conversation.. Really? Are you really 'laughing out loud?' Calm down! You're going into convulsions!! Have you ever tried saying LOL while laughing out loud? It's ridiculous and difficult. I might as well go around saying.. I'm breathing.. now blinking..

5. Talking with food in your mouth
It's gross... I don't want to hear you chewing either. I've grown accustomed to watching peoples mouths when they talk because I understand them better. I get the whole facial experience, and I don't want to see "the half-masticated cow rolling around in your wide open trap." It's such a downer.

note: these are just things i've been noticing as of late.. especially my reaction when these things happen. and my sudden boredom in my writing has left me in a rant list.

note 2: new tunes
The Avett Brothers: I and Love and You & The Ballad of Love and Hate
Wakey!Wakey!: Light Outside & Dance So Good
The New Pornographers: Twin Cinema & Sing Me Spanish Techno (pahha i love this song)
Neon Ballroom: Ana's Song (Open Fire)

So I have thoughts pretty much on a regular basis. Really clever things that I think I would like to share. This also stems from spending hours every day cleaning up after people.

And so goes my life.

I feel like everything is for good experience. Mostly good. Good in terms of, 'wow I learned ___ from this dreadful experience.' (in that case, it's obviously a BAD experience) Gives me a story to tell and something to rant about.. And you should really know that I like a good rant and rave on occasion.

In this current brain pattern, I forgo my previous insights that I will have to get to at a later date with this..

I hate girls. Girls suck. I have been dropped into the high school-two faced girl mentality.. One of which I abhor and would love to be rid of. One of the girls I work with actually has a "frenemy." I never thought they actually were legit, but no.. that's what she actually calls her. I feel like that is my work place. We all visually get along but there is something ebbing away at the facade. I've realized that they put up with each other because they have to work together. Can't have an awkward working environment so we might as well be super friendly to each while simultaneously trash talking them to other co-workers. Like I said, it's high school mentality all over again. And for me if I had such an issue with my work place I would find other work which is my current quest. Because I'll be honest, I like where I work for the most part. The hours kind of suck but it's not bad. My problem is the fake friendships and niceties.

I'm hitting a point where I don't even know if this makes sense. I'm just tired of being sworn at by my co-worker. I'm tired of crude/crass conversation. I am tired of the biting mockery. I've been here like 2 months. I need to figure out what is my good in this experience. Patience? Maybe. Learning how to work with different kinds of people? Good possibility. Fingers crossed. Hmm.

I'm making a fairy house. It's actually turning out better than I thought it would. Pictures once I finish it.

I have 53 minutes left of Jane Eyre. Oh, how will it end. (Thursday has done her deed, btw. Jane has returned to Thornfield. Well done, Thurs.)

PICTURES!!
click to make bigger.. no really.. you should
I went on a walk the other day and THANKFULLY had my camera.. sigh...

I may or may not have gone back to this spot after that initial time with my cousin.. it was just so cool that I had to go give it another look.. So basically... same scene, different people, different lighting.. Still stunning.

I love to see the temple.. I'm going there some day..

If you are unaware of this, I will inform you now.. I love gardenias. They're my favorite. So.. a couple months ago, I bought this little gardenia plant.. It had a bunch of buds but nothing budding.. But a couple days ago this one bud decided that now was the time and just exploded! I swear.. within a day or two it went from bud to bloom.. I think it's cause I talked to it. o.O
I love it.. I had it in the kitchen and even with the onions next to it trying to smother the smell, I still got a wave of gardenia as I passed. I love it... It's true.

My day today has been a state of pondering life and the universe. It's been nice. I have the time in the coming and going to church to ponder. . I love Sundays that I can go. It makes for a long day but every time I'm able to go, it's totally worth it. I'd write more about my ponderings, but now is not the time..

Maybe another day.

Not terribly exciting, but there's pictures!

Hmm. When was this.. Last week? The week before? I cannot recall specifics. HOWEVER! I went to Seattle one day to hang out with my cousin. I realize that this can be a normal happenstance for the rest of the universe. It is not in mine. One of the huge pros in moving to Washington was the fact that my aunt and a couple cousins actually live here, and I wanted to get to know them better. For whatever circumstances, in my mind distance played a huge factor, I didn't get to know them. However, change is in the air!
On my drive to Ileah's place it hit me that I have never hung out with her. How odd. I got there and she had some fantastic plans of where to take me. (Aunt Patty had told her my love of buildings & trees..) Some of her favorite places in the city.

This is a wicked cool water tower. Go to the top and you get to see ALL surrounding areas. (Yes, Bekki, we will go there.)

I- It's a butt tree..
A-whaa??
I-It's a perfect tree for your butt..
A-(uhh... my thoughts exactly...)
There was this stretch of million dollar homes, some built in early 1900s. Love love love! Check out that window. It was all I could do to NOT run and peer through the windows. So lovely.
We went on the underground tour under pioneer square. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but this was not it. (short history- in 1889 there was a HUGE fire, besides the fact that the structural seattle was definitely lacking.. because many of the businesses wanted to get BACK to business, they built on top of previous structures.. and later closed off the underground.. so.. for one low price, you too can go down under the city where ghosts and rats run rampage. i personally saw neither.) The girl that gave the tour was such a hoot and it was really an entertaining show. Ileah's done it like 3 times.

There's really not much explanation of this besides that I love trees. It's this great onward and upward kind of feel to them. Maybe it's the whole being raised in a desert.. Who knows. This one in particular is wicked cool though, eh?

The day came to a close with this spectacular scene. She said it was her top #1 place to see the city. And I'm not sure what it is about that Seattle skyline but it just makes me grin like a fool. Nicely done guys. You've got me good.
A freaking stellar bit about this adventure was finding out that this cousin that I've never hung out with, remember her? We are so SO alike. It's uncanny. Sometimes in personality.. sometimes in likes or dislikes. Obviously there are differences but I was really surprised in things that were so similar. To the point.. we went out to dinner and ordered the exact same thing off the menu. No, it was not discussed beforehand. It was strange but really cool. haha. This whole extended family bit, umm pretty cool. Not gonna lie.
I went back again a week later because I had some stuff to do in the city and went over there for dinner. Beef stroganoff. (mmm delirious!)

The POINT is.. family.. it's new, it's exciting.. I love it.

Besides that: Bekki comes in 23 days (ish). (jig forthcoming.)

So I may or may not have said I would post pictures from my epic Seattle adventure with my cousin. That obviously hasn't happened yet and it won't happen in this post. It doesn't matter.. it'll all come out eventually.. But.. I'm on a quest. A music quest. (so, I use that term a lot- "quest" but I kind of feel like I am.. and it's a hoot..)

My friends sister posted something on her facebook a bit ago, requesting that people stop using lyrics to songs as their status updates. It was argued there that it was "anti original thought." As someone who has done this on more than one occasion, I felt the need to defend my cause. Mostly because I felt that the lyrics I used applied to the moment I used them (derek told me that it had to be always true.. it stuck. i apply it.) I also use it to confuse people, let's be honest. I thought it was a kick when people would come to me concerned or confused about some status update. (evil laughter entered here)

Returning to the argument at hand. I have decided that, where it could be argued that it is anti original thought, sometimes I don't have the ability to form the words in such a way.. and here's someone who has felt what I have felt and has made this experience into poetic verse in a way that I have been unable to describe. Even if their experiences aren't exactly my own, it still applies. Obviously this does not apply to all music. And I'm not saying that all the music I listen to hits that mark, but I certainly will go along for the ride.

Here's another thought that I've been considering. I use lyrics everywhere. There is a constant strain of lyrics and tunes going through my head and I can find one that applies to every situation. And if I can't, I will find a random and obscure and make it apply. I have lyrics plastered on my computer and in my car. A constant strain, a gentle reminder. ("even if i die tomorrow, i'll be glad my life was filled with song." tcc.. shocked? i'm sure) I am not the one making the music, but I certainly appreciate it and can't imagine a life without it. I often wonder as I watch people pass me how they can be so passive in their vehicles. My car is my personal boombox. I need it, partially because I don't have a cd player and that's the only way to listen to these cd's I insist on purchasing and the mixes i make. (i make some really stellar mixes)

I have been incredibly impressed with the impact that music makes. Whether instrumental or lyrical. I have been taken back to moments, bad and good, with the press of a button and change of a chord.

So.. the quest. Right, right. I nearly forgot. I'm on this strange, I find it strange, quest to find music that doesn't remind me of anyone else. That I can't relate to anyone. Something new to match this funny mood I am in. (i listened to She & Him volume 2 all last friday and it sent me to various music scenes.) Something new.. ish. She & Him is/are(??) not new to me. The problem with this frame of mind is that I love sharing music that I find. I feel the need to shoot out messages to particular people and demand that they check out a song/artist that I have suddenly fallen in love with. I was once referred to as a "foodie" but for music. Umm. That was some pretty awesome and stellar praise, to say the least. The problem with my awesome finds is that most of them are usually things that other people give me. There is nothing wrong with this. But my brain is also telling me that if I tell anyone about these awesome new songs or artists, they will no longer be mine. Strange? Yeah, I know. Especially when I know it won't last.
Like now: I made an epic find at a bookstore last week. For ONE dollar I found this:
This is one of those songs that was recommended to me that I have yet to purchase.. but for one buck I got the whole cd! MAGIC! And let me tell you, it got me good. It's a perfect summer cd. And it has opened a door into the idea of making such an epic playlist that the world might explode. (i exaggerate) And obviously this will be music that has been played before and other people know. But all new to me. That's really the goal here. Something new, something that is mine. I've got some really awesome stuff lined up thanks to grooveshark/pandora/amazon/itunes. I don't listen to the radio.

At this point, I guess some could get some random messages from me about these songs. (you know who you are)

It's no wonder I'm no good at writing papers. My train of thought goes wonky and five different directions once my fingers start typing.
