At Michaels this week we get to dress up.. I use it as an opportunity NOT to be in stupid khaki's. one day... I was a gypsy(ish).

HOWEVER!!! TODAY!
terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day...

i had expletives flying out of my head today... (&$#%@!!!-those)

Although it began with my getting together with my friend Abi.. We went to Kneaders.. (so tasty) It was a good beginning.. The middle consisted picking up after the animals that trashed the store. If i get started, I might explode.. although i might just do it later just for fun... everyone should partake in my view of Oprah's 50% off Payless gift to the world..
There were good moments.. the only way i got through... but i forget those and focus on the horrible idiotic moments.
i just want to get to Sunday/Monday... *sigh*

The day finished off with a ward Halloween party...

And finished with jamming out with roomies...

Happy Halloween.

So let's see.. Life is relatively boring. I'm getting better, steadily. I still have a SLIGHT cough and SLIGHT runny nose. Mom still thinks I should see a doctor. But that is besides the point.

Yesterday was AMA-ZA-ZING! Mainly because while I was working at Payless and attempting NOT to keel over, I go to greet this certain family that comes in and see if I can measure feet.. You know, the standard thing I am supposed to do.. Until I realize that I recognize the mom... Oh... it was my best friend from when I was living in Montrose.. when I was 5. DUUUUUDE! It was SO COOL! Mind you I did see her since then.. The few times that we returned back to Montrose. The last time I saw her I think I was 14? So 10 years ago? It was really cool. I got to meet her husband and her two kids. What a weird happen-stance. And thankfully my co-worker let me go and talk to her while she took over the store. YAY!

What else.. I think that's it. ALTHOUGH! This next week at Michaels I am able to dress up every day that I work, not just Halloween. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? Ready? SET GO!

Oh... and after work yesterday I got my hair chopped again.

For some reason I like squinching up my face.

That is all... Church.... Sunday dinner... no work tomorrow. SHOOT AND SCORE!

MANDY JIGS

So Kjirsten made a post a few days ago mainly because of a guy that we met that claimed all girls swoon over horses- anyway... she made a list of things that make her swoon.. and she asked at the end... what's on your swoon list... and I have opted to respond. Although... I have opted to change my list... I have.. as of late constantly made references to liking something so much, or being so excited about something it makes me want to do a JIG. So these are those...
So let's see....

Libraries.. Yea, shocker I know. But I love walking into a library or bookstore and being so surrounded by the different adventures that I don't know where to start. (Of course this particular picture is in Trinity College in Dublin, which I had the great opportunity to see when I was there 3 years ago. First words out of my mouth? "Holy books, Batman!" It was a sight to see...)

I love the smell of books. there is something about the paper, the binding and the script that send me into the dreams of hope and possibility.

And with THAT comes the great books themselves. I love reaching that point in a really great book where I just lose myself in the story. It is one of those things I long for when I pick up a book, just to hit that point.

And say what you will about Arizona.. but they have some pretty spectacular sunsets. There have been many times that I would sit outside the house in Sierra Vista and watch the sun set in the mountains. I loved being able to see the world stretch in front of me.

AAAANNND! Although I can't get a proper picture.. one that I approve of at least... RAIN STORMS and dark ominous clouds. We've had a couple of those lately and i sat outside on the porch with some hot chocolate and watched it all pass by in front of me.

Oh... have I mentioned mountains? Although these are COLORADO mountains.. which are significant.. and significantly different.
And as you cruise through these mountainy passes.. you roll down your window and let the breeze wash in.

And for pure silliness sake.. Photobooths. I am incredibly entertained by this program on my computer however.. the whole photobooth experience is one that needs to be experienced by all.. Being crammed into a small space, knowing that your face is on that stupid screen outside for all passerbys to see.... yike! And then waiting impatiently for the pictures to turn out and laugh hysterically at the result.

The green rolling hills.. the trees... the mist.... so mythical.. leprechauns and faeries of the like.
*sigh*

Another silly one.. but the mismatched socks... the knowledge that I can look down and pull up the legs of my pants and see two different designs and colors makes me chuckle at the world.

A cool photo

I had mentioned this in a previous post... but letters.. a fun, great letter is something that will take me into a tailspin and make me want to dance around for a few minutes, just at the excitement of receiving it. I am hoping to get a Christine letter on Monday. And those are pretty epic... pictures and stories.. takes a month or so to get these letters to the other person, but it's a doozy.

Gardenias. We had a small plant growing outside the house back home... it would steadily bloom every year and produce a few flowers that would fill the walk way up to the door. Pleasant memories.

PARKS! I think this is a "more of late" kind of shindig. Walking around... people watching... reading. whatever.

As many can probably attest, I love hugs. good ones. not those half hearted side hugs, that I think I have found myself giving on occasion. EWWW!
But a good one. All the I love you's--I miss you's---angst of a horrible day or excitement of an amazing experience I think can be summed up in a hug.

(i have been sick as of late... and have refrained from too much human interaction... *sigh*)

Bullet points:

*After 11 years, I think I have matured to some level.

*This is one of the best weekends ever... at least that I had in quite some time. We did flapjack friday which turned out really well. Friday just ended up being a pretty good day, surprisingly enough. Saturday I went to the farmers market, and sadly there was no Papa's Tapa's, but I will survive I guess. (boo) oh.. and worked too.. And today I am finally back into a singles ward, rather than a family ward or floating around from ward to ward. JOY! Even though I felt really old when these guys got up today with baby faces to bare their testimony. 18 seems so little...

*I am cursing Columbus day. No freaking-a POST on stupid Columbus Day... Boohissboo.

*I am living with a great group of girls. We all bring different and great things to the table. I look forward to this continuing.

*My asthma is buggin. Can't breathe.

the end

now.. maybe you don't know this about me.. but...

I LOVE MAIL! I love getting to the mailbox and opening it up and having a letter addressed to me. Not a bill, not an typed letter from some company wishing me happy birthdays... or something... (although netflix is pretty super..) But an honest to goodness letter from someone, a friend. I love it. Can't get enough.
To the point that my good friend Christine have this great deal. She writes me and I write her, obscenely long long letters. It usually takes a few weeks, maybe months to get these things together, but they are a doozy. Full of random bits and pictures/rants and raves. It's great. Highlights of semesters when we aren't going to school together..
Obviously I got a letter today, not a Christine letter, but mail, and of course, I did my excited yelp to see an envelope with my name on it, besides the one from wells-fartgo.
AND! Although I have to go in early tonight to work, like now... and work with the heinous wench that I officially despise, the world will work out.. because I got a letter.

Yay for Fridays...
Just as a sidenote, the bathtub was fixed on sunday. I have not been going around dirty all week.. I'm just sayin'. Apparently it is something that has happened before, and will most likely happen again, BUT hopefully we will remember to call the RIGHT plumber first off.
This is my SECOND week at Payless- which I think has been going really well. I just need to convince her that I can do with more hours, and not go crazy. Please oh please, give me more hours.
It has gotten really cold, really fast. On the 29th of Sept it was in the 80s... on the 30th it dropped to 50s and there was snow in SLC that caused some pretty crazy accidents. It came suddenly... it's weird, but I dont mind.

wow. i am suddenly bored writing this.
