Let's see let's see........

I was stuck in Orem this year for Christmas, which ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be. Although if I didn't already know that I was going home in January, that would have been a totally different story.

Christmas Eve: Made my fort and I was consumed by the childlike enthusiasm that I was engulfed by when I was younger. It was ridiculous and fantastic.
I went to my friend Jade's house for their dinner. It was weird. Partially because when I work with Jade, I have to be friendly with customers and such, so my natural introvert nature is smothered.. So Jade tells her family about me... the work version... then they meet me and wonder why I'm not as funny as the stories. poor suckers.

Christmas Day: Slept in my fort.. Opened my gifts that my family had sent me. I got to have green eggs and ham, which is a Davis family tradition and then went to the Layton's (Tara's inlaws) and had Christmas dinner/lunch with them. We played this cool game called Ticket to Ride... It was an okay way to spend Christmas.. if not with my own family.

Day after: BEST DAY! Besides having to be at work at 530 am. But that meant I was done early.. I went to Target and Barnes and Noble.. I found the 4th book in this Peter and the Starcatchers series, which i didnt think they would write.. The way they ended the 3rd.. I thought it was done.. HOWEVER! It was not. YAY! I went and saw Sherlock Holmes (STELLAR!) with Tara and Ben and fam. And then I got chinese.. which was good.. however.. I wont be having chinese food for at least a year.

I am so so pumped to go home. 2 weeks.

And hey. . . It's New Years Eve... I can't believe it. 2010. Wow.. The 25th year. It's gonna be epic.

later kids.

I'll be home for Christmas.. if only in my dreams..

i have been thinking about this song quite a bit lately. It played a few times at work. I don't think I have ever noticed that phrase till now, but i am so desperate to get home to AZ at least for a little while, although it wont be for the holidays.. it'll be for the next best... when we're almost all together. (all but mom.. or all but me...) The only hitch is my boss at Payless not really wanting me to go because it's the weekend of a holiday. However... I'm booking my ticket tomorrow.

I am torn about what to do on Christmas. My friend Tara invited me over to her in-laws for Christmas dinner.. but now I'm thinking that sitting at home with chinese food while i revel in the one day that I get off from both jobs, might be a better option. It's a toss up. I need to decide... also tomorrow.

the roller coaster ride has begun. see if you can keep up.

i love these movies... and i can't believe it's already the 21st. will post more later...

Dear Public Consumer:

The lowly associate comes to you again airing some grievances of the general population as a whole.

Now... you may not realize this, but I am a person.. just like you! (GASP!) As an associate of the establishment that you have just entered, I have no control of a few things. These include:

1. The price of the product. Yes, i realize that they are the same, but different colors. Honestly, I have no idea why they are different prices.

2. What we have in our store. The corporation is in control and they just ship what they think we need. I am not on a first name basis with the main dude in charge of the company. I cannot change policy. I am the lowest on the totem poll. I'm sure you have some great ideas about how to improve our store, however, talking to me would be like talking to the product in your hand... I'm not going to call corporate with your swell ideas.

Here's the deal. I am paid to sell you what we have in the store and help you have a good experience.. Mainly so you come back and spend more money. Let's get real. Thats what they're getting at. I am not, however, paid to be your servant. You like to leave your garbage all over the floor, which is remarkable considering the garbage cans sitting next to you and throughout the store.

The used nylon stockings that you've put your disgusting feet in greet me from the floor as I come down the aisle. I'm not even gonna tell you what they look like to me. Once again, I repeat, I am there to sell you shoes. I'm there to keep order. I am not there to pick up after you. I have to, because you're a slob and have to consideration for me and the other potential customers that come into the store.

Our establishment, unfortunately for you, does not have a public restroom. I wasn't in charge of the floor plan, and quite frankly I'm already picking up after you. I am not going to clean up after your bowels. Despite what we tell you, we do have a restroom in the back. To get there, you would have to go into our EMPLOYEE ONLY area. Now, the sign is small, however, it's there and means you can't go back there. We have products back there, our personal items, and it's the only place we can go to escape you for a moment while on the clock.

Example: One customer came in today and I found her in the back room taking her child to the bathroom. What a shock for her when I told her that she was not permitted back there and would have to fill out a form saying she was in our back room. This is for our protection and yours. Thankfully, there was a lovely New Yorker in the store that was more fed up with her and her family and would have been willing to confront her on the issue. She didn't, but it was refreshing that there was someone humane who understood in that moment.

Closing. We give you a 12 hour block of time where we are open and happy to help you. 9-9 Mon-Sat. Have your fun shopping, but I have a life to get back to. It's not much, but it's something. Clock strikes 9 and i turn into a pumpkin. Go home.

And yes, this is all a gross exaggeration of the whole human race.. I hope that not everyone acts this way, and really, sometimes we have some lovely people come into our store, it's just the crazies that seem to rule the world and my present state of mind.

Despite what you might think- the customer is not always right

Boredom also results in.... pizza.. veronica mars.. caffeine.. late night jaunts... and sneaky chalk...

(these are from a few weeks ago... My friend Jade came down and we went kinda nuts... here are the results...)

So sneaky sneaky

Me and Jade.... with said sneaky chalk.

ummm. i just dont know... but we think we're hil-arious!

Our impressions of Kronk...

Get a load of this guy! he has his own theme music!!
(and yes.. we did do the theme music)

The most EPIC of loses, that he will never see...

And really... there is no way to properly... effectively explain this.. it'll just sound ridiculous. So I'm leaving it at that.
Happy December!!
