Not terribly exciting, but there's pictures!
Hmm. When was this.. Last week? The week before? I cannot recall specifics. HOWEVER! I went to Seattle one day to hang out with my cousin. I realize that this can be a normal happenstance for the rest of the universe. It is not in mine. One of the huge pros in moving to Washington was the fact that my aunt and a couple cousins actually live here, and I wanted to get to know them better. For whatever circumstances, in my mind distance played a huge factor, I didn't get to know them. However, change is in the air!
On my drive to Ileah's place it hit me that I have never hung out with her. How odd. I got there and she had some fantastic plans of where to take me. (Aunt Patty had told her my love of buildings & trees..) Some of her favorite places in the city.
This is a wicked cool water tower. Go to the top and you get to see ALL surrounding areas. (Yes, Bekki, we will go there.)
I- It's a butt tree..
A-whaa??
I-It's a perfect tree for your butt..
A-(uhh... my thoughts exactly...)
There was this stretch of million dollar homes, some built in early 1900s. Love love love! Check out that window. It was all I could do to NOT run and peer through the windows. So lovely.
We went on the underground tour under pioneer square. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but this was not it. (short history- in 1889 there was a HUGE fire, besides the fact that the structural seattle was definitely lacking.. because many of the businesses wanted to get BACK to business, they built on top of previous structures.. and later closed off the underground.. so.. for one low price, you too can go down under the city where ghosts and rats run rampage. i personally saw neither.) The girl that gave the tour was such a hoot and it was really an entertaining show. Ileah's done it like 3 times.
There's really not much explanation of this besides that I love trees. It's this great onward and upward kind of feel to them. Maybe it's the whole being raised in a desert.. Who knows. This one in particular is wicked cool though, eh?
The day came to a close with this spectacular scene. She said it was her top #1 place to see the city. And I'm not sure what it is about that Seattle skyline but it just makes me grin like a fool. Nicely done guys. You've got me good.
A freaking stellar bit about this adventure was finding out that this cousin that I've never hung out with, remember her? We are so SO alike. It's uncanny. Sometimes in personality.. sometimes in likes or dislikes. Obviously there are differences but I was really surprised in things that were so similar. To the point.. we went out to dinner and ordered the exact same thing off the menu. No, it was not discussed beforehand. It was strange but really cool. haha. This whole extended family bit, umm pretty cool. Not gonna lie.
I went back again a week later because I had some stuff to do in the city and went over there for dinner. Beef stroganoff. (mmm delirious!)
The POINT is.. family.. it's new, it's exciting.. I love it.
Besides that: Bekki comes in 23 days (ish). (jig forthcoming.)
