Cynically amused

Since becoming a pedestrian, there has been something that I've come further aware of and that is!

The crosswalk. I appreciate that, when used correctly, I can safely cross a busy intersection and hold up enormous amounts of traffic.. But at this juncture I focus on the rotation that happens when you press that little silver button and the impatient people that use it.

Obviously, nothing happens right away. I'm fully aware that the intersection has to go through 3 rotations before it returns to me. I press the button and I wait my turn. Someone else comes.

Popopop!

A few seconds go by. Second rotation...

Popopop! (Exasperated sigh) Popopop!

I smirk to myself as the person to my right gets more exasperated. They think it's their turn and start walking into the road only to find that it's merely the time for the last set of cars to turn left.

Popopop!

Yup, that will definitely help your cause.

Unfortunately it is clear to walk at this point and it makes them think they have done something by their frantic clicking of the button.
