For all logical purposes I've had a fantastic week.
But minor ranting never hurt anyone...
1. Texting faux pas. I'm texting a girl I've never met, trying to get her to sublet a room in my house and some texts I get from her have "wud" replacing "would" and "cud" replacing "could."I took it at first as fast texting. We all make that mistake, accidently throwing in words that you don't mean to. And I'll take it... Until it's repetitive, which it was.
Which makes me want to
A- bash my head into a wall
B- audibly groan
C- cry out asking for forgiveness for the damning of the English language.
I remember my 12th grade English teacher getting on our case because people didn't say the T in mountain. "Mauw-en"
Last but not least, other things that drive me nuts that people text.
LOL- the constant "laul-ing."Are you honestly "laughing out loud?" Woah! You're going crazy with the "LOL," you're going to hurt yourself! Calm down, it's not that funny!!!
K- Ah the one letter text that drove me especially nuts when I was paying for each text and for some reason was an indicator in MY brain that the person writing it is TICKED OFF enough to not actually complete the word or make a sentence. Thank you for wasting my time and money with your lame attempt to respond. I can do without.
YA- It apparently can replace "yea" and "you" and the like. Sometimes I have to re-read texts from people to understand what in the world they're saying? Yea or you? Oh, you're talking to ME, you mean to say YOU.. but for some reason it's harder for you to enter ONE MORE LETTER.
2- being used for "too" and "to" AND "two"
going 2 the store.
is she going 2?
I need 2.
Yea, that makes no sense.
Try again.
It's the ALOT thing all over again...
2- At work I'm a "packer." People pick orders and I pack them. It's absolutely not rocket science. So here I am packing a 4867 item order. Yea, it's a doozy. I'm on my 79th box and 4th pallet. But do you want to know what makes this particular order take even longer. The gent that picked it was either did it too quickly or secretly hates me, BECAUSE the boxes aren't in order according to the ticket. I'm digging through 7 different boxes that are around the number I'm on to find what comes next. Oh, and he accidently forgot to pick this item completely. *twitch twitch*
And if you say something to him he responds with "who say? who say?"
I say-dammit!
What's that other thing. I don't remember.
Then I have to deal with him randomly bursting into song to the tune that's on the radio, not the words but of "chicken sandwich" or "hot dog." Give me a call, I'll give you an example.
(I've been overly angry as of late. It's all spewing forth)
Good/funny things that happened this week.
We had an OR BBQ with some awesomely solid good food. Well done, sir. Well done. Krista and Trisha came... And Krista took it on herself to throw down some pick up lines towards one of my coworkers. (apparently she is far more bold when she has nothing to lose) Thankfully, I had warned him in advance... (although I wasn't expecting the pick up lines..) And he's perfected a stone faced silence and didn't turn bright red, as he normally would. Empathy girl attack, I was embarrassed all around. Lesson learned- my worlds shouldn't collide.
Chocolati! I love this place! A group of us went and I may have lost it. I became uber chatty cathy for a good hour talking about musicals and rambling on nonsensically. It's funny when that happens.
Library: Go to return one, come out an hour later with 6. Nice. I love my local library.
Patty has officially filed her divorce papers. ALL HAIL! The day has finally arrived! Well.. Officially 90 days from now but still!
Thursday (now): I went to a production of Hairspray at the 5th Avenue Theatre with my coworker Chelsea. She got free tickets and invited me along. We went and grabbed a bite at this cafe/diner place and went to a show. It was a lot of fun. Suddenly I just want to dance and sing all-night-long. (actually that's false. i'm tired and want to go to bed.)
Friday (expecting a good time) - LDS Mariners Night. Bunch of my friends are going.
Weekend: WAYSAC (Washington Young Single Adult Conference) It's like EFY... but not at all. Classes, activities, dance and a gathering of 800+... That is actually a lot like EFY... Huh...
Yike. Ah, Friday. I've been looking for you.
