(For some reason I went to bed last night with this line of a poem running through my head... huh..)
I went to Washington this last weekend with Christine. My intent had been to change residency, check out campus, and go to the ward I would potentially be going to and see if I could find anyone looking for a roommate. And of course, all my plans were for naught, although I did get to see the UW campus, which is seriously absolutely stunning. I am a sucker for old buildings and trees. It's no wonder I am intrigued by Seattle. AND I got to have an adventure with 'Tistine. It's one of those things I dream about, going on a trip to an awesome city with my best friends. So cool.
Anyway, it was an awesome adventure. We stayed with Mom and went to:
-Deception Pass
-Langley/Coupeville/Oak Harbor, which also included the most random side trips off the side of the road to streets like-Mutiny Bay Rd or Smugglers Cove. Things like that must be investigated.
-Got to see Tarin & fam AND my aunt Patty & fam. What? It was pretty spectacular. Not gonna lie.
-Seattle (duh).
We went to *Uwijimaya (asian market), attempted to go to the *Columbia Center but it was closed. BUT miracle of miracles, we found the *public library. Let me just tell you, there was nothing greater than wandering around this strange and beautiful city looking at these awesome buildings and then to find the library with my book-nerd best friend. (I am not denying my book nerdish tendencies) Anyway.. It was a magical find. Next was the *Space Needle. We didn't go up, but it was pretty spectacular just walking around that area and seeing the greatness of the surroundings. *Pikes Market, *Red Mill Burger... and I think that's it.
It was a jam-packed weekend.. or few days. It was wed-sun.
I have slightly come to terms with moving. Partially deciding because of 2 factors.
1. Finding the public library. Yea, I'm a dork but it was a blessing of a find.
2. If I can drive in that traffic in the rain & dark in a car that I HATE, I might be okay.
Strange? Yes. I do what I can.
And of course.. Pictures. I picked the absolute necessities.. Tried to pick.. Yea.
Deception Pass
Langley
Lightning bolt.. bahha. Harry Potter comes out this weekend. teehehee
In other news- I gave my notice at work. I gave them a month notice so they could find my replacement. The deed is done.
Next up: Sara Bareilles in SLC tomorrow.
Thursday: HARRY (FREAKING) POTTER! BAHHAHAHAHA!! I am so pumped! Me, Kjirst, Tistine, and Becky.. 1230am showing.. 30-45 minute drive.. 2 1/2 hour movie.. and I work the next morning at 7 am. Friday will be interesting, to say the least.
-aaaand SCENE!
