step one:

so today was my disney store interview. I didnt realize going in that I needed a borderline obsession with disney to work there. these people were ridiculous. It was a group interview, which i had never experienced before.

Names have been changed to protect the innocent and annoy the rest.

Contestant number 1: Kyle just loves disney and thinks it would be the greatest thing ever to work at the disney store. What a dream come true! His favorite disney character is Buzz  Lightyear and because he is going to school to be an accountant, he would be the perfect candidate.

Contestant number 2: Sara, a mother of 2 who has been married for 12 years to a military guy. Her favorite character is Mickey Mouse and just loves Disney. To the point that although they live in arizona, they have gone to Disneyland at least 8 times this year. (Her husband might just be sick of disneyland by now). She loves disney more than anything and would just love to work for disney.

Contestant number 3: (this one is my favorite). Jennifer: She wore a cow print skirt with white leggings, a white top, and a cow print fleece sweater, but it had no arms; not to mention her rockin horse earrings. She just LOVES disney and has always just DREAMED about working for Disney. When asked what her favorite store is to work at (we were all asked this), she pauses, thinking for a moment and replies: THE DISNEY STORE. "I just love the atmosphere and the employees greeting me at the door. I just shop here a lot and love it." Her favorite Disney character is Ariel because she related to her most as a child.

Contestant number 4: (staring around in wonder..) It's me bytheway. Thinking: do i have to be this obsessed with Disney to work here? I dont like it THAT much. I just want a job. It's not like they are gonna give that many hours anyway. I can be just as enthusiastic and crap, without being a freaking brown-noser. Note: if i dont get hired by these crazy people, it's because I am just not passionate enough about disney. Favorite disney character? Sleeping Beauty-- and Malificent. She is a rockin cool evil villain. Yes. I might have said that during the interview.

wacko's

more to come.

LOL-Amanda...you just make me laugh. Maybe you should've wore Disney socks and when it came to your turn to speak you could accidentally lift your pant leg up...they would've known you were secretly the most devoted. Did you try answering the questions in the voice of a Disney character? JK...I just love you! Hope the job hunting comes to an end soon...

oh my hilarious. I officially hate job interviews. well...I think I've officially hated them for a while, but your story reminds me of my stance. anyway, if I had to be surrounded by people who feigned (or maybe didn't) their passion for Disney, I might just blow the interview to sidestep the whole mess. I don't know. I love your admittance of your love for an evil villain. Perfect.

P.S. tell Becky that I try to leave comments on her blog but it never lets me. I don't know. Also, inform her that her skirt/slip incident had me laughing on my insides. that is honestly hilarious.

That is hilarious! I've often wondered what a disney interview would be like. What about the people that dress up and are in the parades and stuff- you know they have to be a LITTLE obsessed with their characters!!
Thanks for the posts. I love hearing how you're doing!
